Training

In the Reserves you'll improve both your physical and mental fitness, while learning new skills. The training may complement and build on your day job or prepare you a completely new role.

World-class instruction

Australian Defence Force training is totally free, highly respected across many industries, and can provide you with nationally-accredited qualifications.

Learn new skills

In many Reserve roles you'll receive training that relates directly to your everyday occupation, providing skill and character development that benefit both your employer and your career prospects.

Improve your fitness

Some Reserve roles involve more fitness training than others, which many recruits really enjoy. The emphasis is on achieving reasonable levels of fitness in a supportive environment.

Make a difference

To prepare you for any peacekeeping, humanitarian or disaster-relief operations you may have the option to join as a Reserve, you’ll undertake a period of general military training.
